Demystifying Minimalism, Part 1

We’ve done the research, and here’s what the facts show! Minimalism has a ton of benefits. Here are some of our favorites.

Are there any benefits?

We were honestly surprised when we first looked into minimalism. There are the obvious benefits, like the de-stressing that comes from de-cluttering, but what else can minimalism offer?

Lower carbon footprint.

Modifying your shopping habits and living with less means a greener footprint! Using your local Buy Nothing or swap group [https://buynothingproject.org/] as a gifter means fewer goods are transported into your local area. Reduce, reuse, recycle, and skip the huge carbon hit that cross-country shipping brings!

Less debt.

This one was pretty surprising to us! Living with less can be a huge boon to your wallet. Minimalism is a lifestyle choice, and once you start, it’s hard to quit! Once you’re in the habit, many minimalists find themselves buying less in the day-to-day. Midnight Amazon shopping binges become a distant memory, and downsizing your living space means choosing efficient, multi-purpose furniture and appliances--Murphy bed, anyone? The extra cash means that any debt you may have can disappear way faster!

More benefits in tomorrow’s post!
