Demystifying Minimalism, Part 2

mproved outlook.

A key part of minimalism is taking a mindful approach to deciding what you do and don’t need. The process can actually be pretty Zen! Decluttering guru Marie Kondo encourages people to thank the items they’re getting rid of as they donate or toss them. If you’ve never said “thank you” to a colander as you drop it off at Goodwill, I highly recommend it. But more seriously, decluttering is a beautiful thing, and allows you to enjoy what you have, beautifully displayed and fully-functioning!

More time!

Yes, you can pull more time out of thin air, thanks to minimalism! Think about it: take the time you use to clean your house, fold the laundry, vacuum pet hair out of every piece of furniture, and shuffle through the bookshelf looking for something...and use that time instead to work on a hobby, see friends, go out, and just enjoy life to the fullest!
