Giving Back in November
One of the surefire ways to practice gratitude this Holiday season as we approach Thanksgiving is to give back. There are so many ways to give to those in need in the Pioneer Valley this season. Not only will it help someone who needs it, but it will also help propel gratitude for what you have! Check out these ways to get started.
Donate canned goods to the Amherst Survival Center
While the Amherst Survival Center collects food all year long, there is an increase in need during this holiday season. The ASC’s thanksgiving push is asking for stuffing, cranberry sauce, canned pumpkin, boxed mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, cream of mushroom soup and other holiday themed foods. Learn more here.
Volunteer at Not Bread Alone
Without programs like Not Bread Alone, many of our neighbors would be eating in situations that are anything but welcoming or pleasant. Homemade meals are served on the lower level of the First Congregational Church of Amherst UCC every Saturday & Sunday at noon, Wednesday at 4pm and Thanksgiving & Christmas. Learn how you can get involved here.
