Escaping the Comfort Zone
Let's get into some ways to change your perspective! Take a step outside of your comfort zone and see where it leads you!
Take a daily walk through the neighborhood and notice what's around you. Then change up your route the next day. What else do you notice? There's always something beautiful around--blooming flowers in a neighbor's yard, a mural behind your favorite bagel shop. Be adventurous! Leave your phone in your pocket and trek out a new route on your own--you might find a secret shortcut, a quiet place to sit, or a beautiful view. If you find that view, get out your phone for a sec and snap a pic to remind yourself: adventure pays off.
Whether you're stuck at home in quarantine or you have to head into work, the future can seem like a big, looming question mark. Keep track of the small victories, and look at the big picture, even if the big picture is mostly unknown.
We recommend journaling daily! That might mean a quick entry in a notebook, a bullet journal, or a gratitude journal. We're not purists--if you don't have the time or energy to put pen to paper, use your phone notes and just type in your daily routine, or a wish you have for the future. There are also many journaling apps that give you a daily reminder to write, and some are password-protected to ensure your privacy.
It can be scary writing out your fears and worries, but the payoff comes down the road. Go through the archives every few weeks or months, and surprise yourself--things get better, even if it takes a long time, and you're constantly growing. You deserve it!
